  Croatia has closed 7 of its 8 border corssings with Serbia. This is a struggle to curb withthousands of migrants trying to get to northern Europe. The government in Croatia had earliersaid it would not be able to take any more migrants crossing from Serbia. As Gade Ronnyreports from Zagreb. Croatia has now joined Hungary in closing its road borders with Serbia,that cuts off the main land road from Northern Europe through to Greek and Turkey. Theauthorities in Zagreb say they have no choice. More than ten thousand refugees have enteredthe country since Wednesday, the day after Hungary criminalized unofficial border crossings.Croatia has attempted to take the newcomers to asylum centers, but the overwhelmingnumbers mean that many people have to be left on the streets. The authorities in Slovenia saythey have stopped a train carrying more than a hundred migrants at the Slovenian bordertown of Dobova.

  Syrian government forces have launched airstrikes on rebel-held districts. At least 15 peoplewere killed in the town of Buzra in Daraa province. In the north, activists say that more than 40people died in air raids on Allepo, further east reports say warplanes struck Raka.

  The Pakistani military says gunman have attacked airforce base in the northwestern city ofBushawa, and says the security forces responded killing at least six of them. From IslamobadSasha Gilani reports. The attack came around sunrise on Friday, when up to ten heavily armedmilitants tried to break into the Badaber airbase near Bushawa. Soon after, a contingent of thePakistani army's rapid response force surrounded the area. In the subsequent gunbattle, atleast six militants were killed, and a army major and a soldier were wounded. The army says thehunt is on for the remaining gunmen. In an email to reporters, the Pakistani Taliban said theyordered the attack.

  World football's governing body FIFA has suspended its secretary general Jerome Valcke untilfurther notice. FIFA's ethics committee is to investigate reports claiming that Mr. V sold WorldCup tickets at exorbitant prices. Richard Comvoy has the details.
