In most restaurants and bars, an inexpensive beer or glass of wine will cost about SEK 60; prices can be significantly lower at student unions or nations.

A guaranteed sum of money is a residence permit requirement

Some students will need to apply for a residence permit before arriving in Sweden. For more information about visas see: www.studyinsweden.se/Living-in-Sweden/Do-I-need-a-visa/.

When applying for a residence permit, you must prove to the Swedish Migration Boardthat you will have a guaranteed sum of money at your disposal throughout the entire period of your studies. The amount, SEK 8,010 per month for ten months of the year, is set by the Migration Board. If you wish to bring your family you must show that you have at your disposal an additional SEK 3,500 per month for your spouse and SEK 2,100 per month per child.
