Application and tuition fees for non-EU/EEA students
In August 2011, Swedish universities introduced tuition fees for students from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. The tuition fee at Södertörn University is somewhere between SEK 85 000 and SEK 145 000 per academic year, depending on the subject area.
This tuition and application fee will not affect any students - regardless of nationality - who are in Sweden as part of an exchange agreement.
Not all third country students are liable to pay fees. People who are considered to have strong links to Sweden, who have a permanent residence permit or a residence permit in Sweden for reasons other than studies, should be treated in the same way as Swedish citizens, and should thus be able to complete their higher education without paying tuition fees. Tuition fees at Södertörn University
The tuition fees at Södertörn University are set according to which discipline the course belongs to. Our fees for autumn 2015 are:
Humanities and Social Sciences: SEK 85 000 per academic year
Education: SEK 120 000 per academic year
Sciences: SEK 145 000 per academic year
Health Sciences: SEK 145 000 per academic year
Other subjects: SEK125 000 per academic year
Please note that the tuition fee does not include living expenses, such as accommodation, food, course literature, etc.
Application fees
From autumn 2011, the application fee for students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland for higher education institutions in Sweden is SEK 900 (approximately €100/USD 140). The application fee is the same for all Swedish higheducation institutions.
