Minimum funding requirements for non- EU/EEA/EFTA citizens
Regulations from the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration state that all international students who are not citizens of EU/EEA/EFTA countries need to apply for a residence permit for students. This means that applicants for exchange, undergraduate or master's programmes at NTNU must document their funding source(s) (NOK 100,920 for 2015/2016) in their application.
The documentation must be given for one year at a time, so even though an international master's programme has a duration of two years, applicants only need to document funding sources for one year in their application. Exchange students who are only staying at NTNU for one semester only need to provide documentation for one semester.
How to provide documentation of financing when you apply
In your application for admission, you may document financing by means of a bank statement or a letter of confirmation from your sponsor. The amount per year (the minimum amount is currently NOK 100,920), must be stated in the letter. The letter must be in English, or come with an English translation. If applicable, the name of your sponser must also be stated in the letter.
