Tuition Fees for International Students
The maximum amount of tuition fees for the academic year 2015/2016 is € 2,208.00 (plus regional tax of € 140.00 and sports tax of € 6.00, for a total of € 2,354).
Should the student enrol in two different degree programmes at the University of Pisa, s/he will be required to pay the tuition fees for each programme.
Non-EU students can request a reduction of the tuition fees based on country of origin or on merit. The maximum reduction for country of origin is € 1,947.00; the maximum reduction for merit is € 261.00. These reductions can be combined.
Cost of living
The cost of living in Pisa can be quite low but of course this depends on a student's individual needs and how much is spent on monthly rent.
A suggested monthly budget could be:
Option 1: student living in his/her own room in a rented apartment
Accommodation with utilities: 400/450 euros +
Food: 300 euros +
Other living expenses 100 euros =
TOTAL: 800/850 euros
Option 2: student living in a rented studio apartment
Accommodation with utilities: 600/700 euros +
Food: 300 euros +
Other living expenses 100 euros =
TOTAL: 1000/1100 euros
The cost of some basic food items in Italy is the following:
Milk (1 litre) 1 euro
Coffee (1 cup) 1 euro
Loaf of bread (1 kilo) 1,20 euros
