Though perhaps best known for tourism, Bangkok can also be thought of as a study abroad destination. With no fewer than five ranking institutions in the 2011 QS World University Rankings, led by Chulalongkorn University in 171, the city can in fact claim to be one of Southeast’s Asia’s higher education hubs.
Then, of course, there are all of the things that draw the tourists in; the colorful temples, the cuisine, the beaches, the unique nightlife and the relentless hustle and bustle. But it’s not all about the tourist trail – after all, this is a living, breathing 21st century city.
But then again, you probably won’t have any trouble getting your friends and family to come visit you…
QS ranked universities:
Chulalongkorn University ; Mahidol University ; Thammasat University ; Kasetsart University ; King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi
