　　General academic requirements

　　As a successful applicant you must hold the first academic degree, normally a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, from an institution of higher education in the field of technology or architecture.

　　Each Master's degree programme has its own specific admission requirements. You can see the specific requirements on the programme's website. Generally, a Bachelor's degree and a language test are required.

　　Some programmes may accept students with a Bachelor's degree from a university of applied sciences in Finland. The Bachelor's degree programme has to be strongly related to the programme the student applies for.

　　The CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is an average of all of your grades for the courses in your previous degree. It is an advantage that the overall grade (CGPA) of the degree is at least 70 % but it is not a minimum requirement. The student selection is made by Admission Committees on the basis of your academic qualifications and merits shown in your application documents.

　　Please note that all applicants fulfilling the requirements cannot be granted admission. A limited number of the highest qualified students will be accepted in the programmes. There is no fixed quota for the annual intake of international students at Tampere University of Technology.

　　Applicants who are seeking admission to their first master’s programme are given preference in the admissions process. Applicants for a second master’s degree may be admitted only under exceptional circumstances and only if they are able to show that the courses that count towards a degree at Tampere University of Technology provide the applicant with genuinely new knowledge and skills. The courses that count towards a degree at Tampere University of Technology must provide the applicant with genuinely new knowledge and skills. As a rule, the University does not accept applications from individuals who already hold a master’s degree or have completed nearly all the requirements for a master’s degree in a closely related field and are applying to a master’s programme that is largely similar in course content as their previous degree programme.
