Graduate School of Management (business school)
Though you apply directly to the graduate school that oversees your field of study, the Office of International Education (OIE) is here to support you throughout your university career at Marquette.
After confirming your enrollment, OIE will issue your I-20 or DS-2019 and provide information about arrival and orientation. In addition, graduate students are welcome to participate in OIE events and programs throughout the year.
Dental School
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
International students must submit the necessary application forms, fees, official documents and any other items that are required by the School of Dentistry. All documents:
Must be by the appropriate source
Must bear fresh-ink printing, signatures, or a stamp or seal of certification as an official document.
Translation requirement
All materials not in the English language must be accompanied by official language translations.
English proficiency
International students must also have an adequate command of written and spoken English. If English was not the language of a student’s formal education, he or she must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language administered by Educational Testing or submit other evidence of English proficiency.
Office of International Education
Once accepted, prospective dental students who are not citizens or lawful residents of the United States will work with the Office of International Education. Completion of university and student legal arrangements is required before enrollment.
Prospective Marquette F–1 or J–1 visa students must document full financial resources for the duration of the program before the office can issue the student’s required Certificate of Eligibility for subsequent governmental arrangements.
Graduate School
Submit an online application* and application fee.
Attach the appropriate supporting documents to your online application.
These could include a resume/CV, statement of purpose, writing sample, and/or other documents required by your program.
We will also accept these documents emailed to gradadmit@marquette.edu after your application has been submitted online.
Submit transcripts
You must list in the application and submit official transcripts for all colleges or universities that you have attended, whether or not you received a degree or transferred the credits from the school. Marquette University transcripts need not be submitted*.
International students whose official language of instruction for their bachelor's degree (or master's, if applicable) was not English must submit proof of English proficiency, which is generally evidenced with an official TOEFL or IELTS exam score. If English was the official language of instruction, applicants must notify the Graduate School via email at gradadmit@marquette.edu after they have completed the submission of the online application form.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Information
International students should have an adequate command of both written and spoken English, usually evidenced by a TOEFL score of at least 213 on the computer-based version or 80 on the Internet-based version (a minimum of 20 on each section).
Applicants for some programs must test with higher minimums and should consultapplication requirements for their individual program. If a higher minimum is required, it will be stated in the application requirements.
Test scores may not be more than two years old.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Information
International students whose language of instruction for a prior degree was not English may take the IELTS in place of the TOEFL. Scores should be no more than two years old. An IELTS total score of 6.5 or higher will be required for admission. Information about the IELTS can be found at www.ielts.org.
ELS
ELS is an organization that provides English as a Second Language training for non-native English speakers. A score of 3.0 on Level 112 is required. Marquette University has an ELS chapter on our campus.
