 　　美國大門生的研討生學位，有碩士和博士兩種。

　　碩士學位課程必需包含一組相聯貫的課程。隨後是一系列性測驗和論文，或是與之相幹的一個有發明性的項目。碩士學位課程一般是一至兩年。

碩士學位課程重要有兩種：一種付與門生學術性的學位，即文學碩士學位或理學碩士學位;另外一種課程付與門生某一職業上的碩士學位，引誘門生進入一個實踐性較強的專業範疇，為往後職業做預備。

　　碩士學位課程包含預先籌劃好的、聯貫的教室講解，專題講座，評論辯論、小我進修或調研。門生經由過程在藏書樓裏研討原始資料，在試驗室做試驗，加入發明性的學術運動，門生要交一篇論文，有的要提交卒業作品。
